How to Open Life’s Windows When Doors Close

Dealing with disappointment and failure is one of the hardest things a person has to regularly deal with, and unfortunately, everyone has to deal with it at some point. It’s never easy, but sometimes the closing of one door can lead you into an unexpected direction that can help things turn out for the best. However, you’ll never find these “windows” if you’re unmotivated or disheartened. This article is all about helping you find new opportunities when old opportunities disappear.

Take Some Time to Reflect and Relax

When something bad happens, it’s easy to get stressed and find yourself trapped in a cycle of regret, fear, or sorrow. The best way to avoid this situation is to get out of your own head and find a way to relax and reflect. A walk in nature can go a long way in helping you find a center, and has shown to make positive changes to people’s moods.

Visualize Success

Once you’ve found a center and decided on a course of action, it’s time to start visualizing yourself succeeding. Whatever it is that you decide to do to recover from your setback, you can help yourself succeed at it by visualizing in your mind clearly, over and over again. This really works. Athletes and businesspeople alike both benefit from this trick. Once your mind understands that the thing is possible, you’re set.

FInd Courage and Move Forward

After an especially difficult loss, be it from a job or relationship, courage can be hard to come by. But after visualizing your success over and over again, your confidence should naturally begin to come back. And once it does, your courage will come back as well. All you have to do is make that initial jump. Just make sure that you reward yourself with positive thinking each step of the way. It takes guts to try again, but you can do it!
